Becoming A Mom

Something that I never saw in my future

There was a time in my life where I didn't think that I could have kids. Back in my 20's I was overtrained and under fueled. I lost my period for 6 years, messed up my hormones, and was told I had PCOS and it was likely I wouldn't be able to have kids. Or it would be a very long and hard process. I pretty much ruled it out and focused on living a fulfilling life filled with travel, adventure, and experiences. I moved to the mountains and prioritized having fun. When I found out that I was pregnant, my life flipped upside down. I was immediately scared, worried about how life would look having to be responsible for more than myself. How would my body look? Would I still be capable? Turns out, I'm more than capable. Life doesn't end when motherhood begins. It just changes. And it has become my passion and life's mission to support other moms on their journey. And to help them also life and empowering and very fulfilling life filled with strength, love, and lots of adventure doing everything they love and more.

My Background

I've been in the health and fitness industry forever. I grew up in Illinois and played just about every sport imaginable. I even played soccer throughout college. I've had a coach of some sort (depending on which phase of life I was in), since I was 16 years old. I've competed at the elite level running in Spartan races while also building strength and participating in CrossFit.

Certifications include:

  • Pregnant and Postpartum (through several programs)
  • Precision Nutrition
  • Personal Training
  • Girls Gone Strong
  • ISSA Training and Nutrition

I have been on and off coaching for several years. It was the shift of becoming a mom where I felt a stronger pull to make coaching a priority. Moms have been so underserved for too long. A 6-week checkup after giving birth is not enough. There are ample resources to help you navigate pregnancy, but after you have your baby the priority becomes about the baby. But.....what about the mom?

Have you thought about how your mental and physical health directly supports that of your children? Too often I see moms sacrificing their life to support their children. But in reality, prioritizing YOUR needs is going to help you better support yourself, your children, and your family. It starts with you mama.

You can have both postpartum. You can love and support your family unconditionally while still loving yourself. I've always been passionate about helping people move through life pain free and with confidence by leverage strength training. But it wasn't until becoming a mom that I realized how vital it is as a parent. Not only does it make life easier carrying your kids, bringing in groceries, doing things around the house. But strength training lets me climb mountains carrying my child. It lets me feel good in body. It empowers me to move through life with confidence.

Working with me means having insight to over a decade of training, certifications, and further education. And it combines education with personal experience and compassion.
